What is the Eucharist?
Holy Eucharist is the sacrament of initiation in which Jesus Christ gives his Body and Blood for us, so that we too might give ourselves to him in love and be united with him in Holy Communion.
What is the Eucharist's form and matter?
It's form includes:
- "Take this all of you, and eat of it: for this is my body which will be given up for you."
- "Take this all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins."
- "Do this in memory of me"
Who can minister the Eucharist?
A priest of bishop can minister the sacrament.
What is the rite of the Eucharist?
The Eucharist takes place at every mass during the Liturgy of the Eucharist. The minister says the Eucharistic Prayer and transforms the bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ. First he says "Take this all of you and drink from it; for this is my body which will be given up for you." Then he takes the chalice and says "Take this all of you, and drink from it: for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me." When a person goes to receive the Eucharist, the minister will say "Body/Blood of Christ" and the receiver will say "Amen." before consuming the host.

Adoration
Adoration is a time of prayer spent before the Blessed Sacrament. During this time, we adore and honor the Eucharistic Presence of Christ which is usually placed in a monstrance. We watch in silence as we open ourselves to God's grace which comes from the Eucharist. In the 13th and 14th centuries, after the Second Vatican Council, adoration became a traditional practice in the Christian community.
Adoration is offered at Kellenberg once every month at XLT. It is also offered at my parish on Divine Mercy Sunday.
Eucharistic Miracle of Sanatrem
In the 13th century, a woman who lived in Sanatrem, Portugal, was upset with her unfaithful husband so she sought a sorceress. The price the sorceress asked for was a eucharistic host, so when the woman received eucharist at mass at the Church of St. Stephen, she took the host out of her mouth and wrapped it in her veil, but when she was leaving, the host began to bleed. When she got home, she placed the host in a trunk. That night, a light shined from the trunk, so the next day, the woman repented and returned the host to the church. There was an investigation that followed which approved the miracle.
